But the former mesa employees who came over to skw won't ever change their opinion of how bad Mesa is based on it's past, and they plug their ears and scream and yell that they are the best.

Also, I don't think people necessarily banked on a quick upgrade, but rather used known facts at the time as part of the decision making and calculations. Joining the largest regional pilot group, at a company that has a bunch of 200s, is a lot riskier than one that, at least at the time, is growing steadily...at least in my opinion. But banking on anything in the aviation industry is always a risk. Banking on which major to go to is a risk. No one is safe in this industry until the day you retire. If you think SKW is immune you are delusional and/or blinded by your pride in your decision.

You guys need to realize that skywest isn't the best choice for some people, myself and most people I started with at Mesa included. For some it's a great choice. I know it's hard to accept, but you shouldn't relish in a hatefest of another airline where people are actually happy and life is relatively good...not real classy, especially when the trash talking is about stuff that happened in years past or just isn't true. At the end of the day, we will probably work for the same company in a few years. I don't plan on sticking around the regionals for long...and I hope you guys don't either. At the end of the day no one cares which farm you were an indentured servant on. They all grow the same corn.

Depends who you talk to, I've been here 4 years and I can honestly say my quality of life has been great ever
Since I got off teserve about 3 months in. When I was hired 4 years ago 6 people were from Mesa, that was then and this is know obviously. People almost always go for the quick upgrade, before PSA signed their TA their intake was very low...announce a lot of flying, especially with a small pilot group and boom applicants.

I'm not saying skywest is the biggest and baddest but I will say most people I know have been very happy here for a long time, people that complain it's generally about small stuff, if it was big stuff constantly we'd be unionized. In general most people are very happy here, espcecially people that got to love west coastish, our upgrade time is down to 4 years and a few months (january 2011) hire and dropping. At 4 years seniority I'm having about 30-40 people leave a month above me.

I don't drink the coollaid but knowing friends at other airlines I think things could be worse. People b***** about anything, we still will b**** when we're top seniority captain at mainline living in base and not paying alimony/ child support and home every night...that's what people do lol
