On the first attempt we were seeing 28 to 35 direct crosswind component, limit on the 757 was 29, we went around. Next attempt it was 25-29, we landed.
All the fat fingering on some crosswind chart ahead of time is great for planning, but I want to know the actual crosswind from the IRU's/FMS, not what the ATIS or Tower is calling it. Progress Page 2 will tell you all you need to know, other than surface condition.... which also changes minute by minute.
