google "Thunder Mustang". There was a group in Lawrence, KS that had made the deal to buy the rights, had tooling, etc. They gave up or ran out of financing or something. I went to visit them once - had a Thunder Mustang being built - what an awesome machine. Not sure why the prototype crashed, but I do not believe it was the fault of the airplane.
