On the subject of more money per day verses more guaranteed time off I guess the forum is voting for cash rather then time off. Seems contrary to many past posts. I prefer knowing in advance I have a week off the company can't use me.
Our vacation time is woefully inadequate. The per day credit needs to increase significantly. Neither of those things means we have to do away with knowing when we will have time off. The value of a vacation day needs to go up. A lot.
