Wow, I didn't know airlines were still doing this since 117 began. I thought 117 prevented an airline from putting you on ready reserve after completing an assignment but apparently that is not the case at Skywest or Mesa.
Adding RDY to the end of assignment happens nearly every day at SKW. Amazingly enough they've never once called me during RDY. I usually spend the time working on my other job (on my laptop at the SFO Starbucks), perched on the edge of my chair for the 4:00 pm shuttle to the employee parking lot. If anyone is in SFO's Terminal 2 on a given weekend around 3:00, stop by the Starbucks next to the Virgin ticket counter and say hi. I'll be the guy trying to pretend my phone doesn't exist
