For most of the Regional stuff the Bose X is teh best. Once you get into something bigger all you need is a Telex 750 or smaller earpiece. I have not been in an RJ but the Bose worked great in the Dash 8'S and were an overkill for any Airbus, Boeing product. Even in the really wind noisy MD-80 the 750's are fine.

I would stilll strongly rec the Bose X's for you cause they are great when you get the chance to go back and fly your local 172's again and it never hurts to have a spare set of something around for later on if you only use them for a year or 2.
