I know it's frustrating, I'm all civilian, CRJ hour check airman with about 11K tt, 7K jet pic, BS degree, internal hr email, application reviewed by a consultant, etc...
No call.
But I know that they value and prefer the military guys right now. I don't necessarily agree (since I'm not military), but I get it. Military guys and gals are a known quantity for the most part. AK knows what they've done in training, records are complete, and knows that they work hard.
Most civilian pilots can say the same thing... But to AK the military guys are a safer bet.
Over the next decade the turnover at Delta will be something like 70%. AK is tasked with the responsibility to ensure that their culture isn't lost during this process. The guys he hires now will be the captains when the tier 3 guys start to get called, and he wants to make sure the culture remains tier 1.
Just my opinion.

I keep hearing this argument. I understand it's easier to vet military guys, but they make it seem that civvies aren't documented or something. Have they ever heard of Simuflite or Flight Safety? There's your documents right there.
