I know it's frustrating, I'm all civilian, CRJ hour check airman with about 11K tt, 7K jet pic, BS degree, internal hr email, application reviewed by a consultant, etc...

No call.

But I know that they value and prefer the military guys right now. I don't necessarily agree (since I'm not military), but I get it. Military guys and gals are a known quantity for the most part. AK knows what they've done in training, records are complete, and knows that they work hard.
Most civilian pilots can say the same thing... But to AK the military guys are a safer bet.

Over the next decade the turnover at Delta will be something like 70%. AK is tasked with the responsibility to ensure that their culture isn't lost during this process. The guys he hires now will be the captains when the tier 3 guys start to get called, and he wants to make sure the culture remains tier 1.

Just my opinion.

Has anyone been hired recently with over 10,000 total hours? I had a friend in almost the same boat as you, he had 12,000 hours was a LCA but couldn't get the interview so he applied at American and was hired. I had heard that military guys average time is around 2500 and civilian guys hired average around 6500. Someone on the inside might have more accurate numbers but that's what I remember. I heard a rumor that AK doesn't like too many hours because your not as traininable, not sure if that so true. Just curious how many guys have been hired with over 10,000 hours as of late?
