Military experience is ALWAYS desirable.
But since before 9/11, they've had about a 50-50 to 60-40 (both directions) of mil to civ hires.
Last year, it was 53% civilian and 47% military.
I'd be more inclined to believe that in the mega stack 5 figures of applications, the amount of mil pilots is LESS than that of all the civilian pilots overall. With the amount of mil pilots with competitive experience (IP/ER/NATOPS/Safety) is getting smaller and smaller. So in the "peer comparison" of similar demographic/background, those that have it are getting called much more quickly.
