A bit of good news for Delta to counter a rough week in aviation.

In a decision Friday, the U.S. Department of Transportation said Delta could keep the route. But it required Delta to fly the route every day of the year and not go long stretches with no scheduled flights.
“The Department also tentatively selects American Airlines, Inc. for backup authority for its proposed Los Angeles-Haneda services should Delta not meet the additional conditions and requirements tentatively attached to this slot pair authority,” the DOT said in its show-cause order."
