FWIW, I'm in training now, and things are going well. Great instructor, great staff, that are showing our class that they care. We have had our classes issues dealt with in a way that I found both professional and human. It's really great to see.

So, yeah, the pay is tough in training. But I knew that coming in, and wanted to be at a place that takes care of employee's, isn't shrinking, has a livable regional contract, with a base where I live. I'm not regretting my decision.
