I attended WAI and have applied multiple times over the past 4 years with no luck obtaining an interview. Thankfully a friend of mine just obtained a blue dart, so at least I should get an interview soon.
As for rumors, JetBlue/Alaska would be an interesting merger combining the west and east markets, only problem is their aircraft types don't match.
The fleet types don't have to match. Alaska already has the staff, infrastructure and logistics to support the 737. Just fence the equipment for a few years.
It would link east and west and best of all give the finger to delta in their own turf JFK.
