I highly suggest that if you want to move on to a mainline…any mainline…or even most so called LCC's even, that you let go of that angst and focus on the optimistic sides of the opportunities ahead, for your sake. YMMV.
Not to mention that even being able to get hired with a bad attitude doesn't get one past the probation year. You can be fired for displaying a bad attitude to any of those captains you fly with because evaluations are still done. If he really harbors such a resentment toward mainline pilots because of the pay/benefits that HE agreed to at his regional carrier, then maybe he should find another profession. He doesn't have to be cordial (whatever that means) towards me if I ask him for a jumpseat, that's his right. He can even deny it. But for the life of me I don't understand why he would want to bite on the business end of that pistol and sabotage any future he might have here or at any other major carrier.
I do get the frustration though. The civilian pipeline is a tough road, and has been for quite some time because nobody has been hiring. That is all coming to an end though
