"Update on Business Developments
Dan McHugh <[email protected]>

To: Dan McHugh;

To: All Southern Air Employees

Following on news we discussed with you in February, I have some updates to share with you on recent business developments.

Yesterday, Worldwide Air Logistics Group, Inc. completed its acquisition of Florida West International Airlines, Inc., following regulatory approval.

Florida West now joins Southern Air as a separate operating air carrier and subsidiary of Worldwide, enabling the group to expand our cost-focused, customer-oriented, lean and efficient offerings to new customers in more markets.

Florida West and Southern Air will remain separate air carrier operating companies under Worldwide. Each carrier will continue to deliver on a standalone basis the exceptional performance and superior service customers expect.

In addition, Fred deLeeuw now leads Southern Air as president, effective today. Fred joined Southern Air in 2013 and has been integral part of the company’s executive management team. Fred has more than 35 years of aviation experience in finance, operations and leadership. He has held many senior leadership roles at Atlas Air, Inc., Vanguard Airlines, Inc., Northwest Airlines Corp., and Continental Airlines, Inc., among others. Please join me in congratulating Fred.

I would also like to congratulate Worldwide's executive leadership team, which includes Dave Soaper as president, Jon Olin as chief administrative officer, and Oliver Gritz as chief commercial officer. As CEO of Worldwide, I look forward to continuing to rely on the superior expertise of these stellar leaders in aviation.

We encourage all employees to reach out with questions you may have and we will continue to keep you updated as we work to diversify and grow our business.

Thank you for your continued commitment to safe operational excellence.

Dan McHugh

CEO, Worldwide Air Logistics Group, Inc."

I really like the way Dan is so bad at e-mail that he left the "To: Dan McHugh;" address line in this update. Whoever wrote it for him is probably doing a facepalm. Still, it is not as bad as the time he left the actual author's full contact details at the footer of a message.
