You are correct. DHL does not pay our wages.
That said, however, DHL does look at the entire package of what their contracting airlines offer when it comes to awarding flying and pilot costs are a part of that.
At Astar, our performance was exceptional. Despite an over 99% on time record, we were shutdown about as quickly as they could replace us. Our downfall was a combination of old airframes (with 3 man crews), moderately high wages, and an owner who was at the end of his career, had made a fortune with DHL, and wanted out.

Just curious, (and I know it's hard to get actual numbers) but about what percentage of Atlas flying would you say is DHL stuff?
Atlas has 11 767's and 12 747's flying for DHL out of our total fleet of 54 planes, so about 43% of the fleet and some what less than that in block hours due to the short duration 76 domestic hub flying.
