As one of the 6 month wonders, I will tell you that upgrade is crazy intense. They make it explicitly clear that they are out to break you if they can when you ask why so intense.
It is primarily because you will be flying with so many new F/Os and CRJs are pretty fragile machines compared to Boeings and Airbuses.
Take it for what it is worth from someone with 20+ years of 121 and a handful of transport category jet types (12,500 to 355,000#s).
I sweated every minute of it until my final line check.
