They may get to change the method that they're paid but their W2s will stay the same. That's how much the airline thinks you're worth, and they don't care how you get to that number. Paid for 3x the duty hours but it's going to be at 1/3 the rate you get now.

The only benefits I see of this are a one time retroactive pay or a situation where pay per duty hour is less than minimum wage.
