I think of some of the older ex-Cons that I've flown with - ones that were there in the pre-Bethune era - and I imagine that they hold their heads in shame upon reading your posts in this thread. Those guys dealt with more stress in a month than you've dealt with in your entire career.

This is the airline industry. One day you're at the top of the mountain, the next day, vultures are ripping at your flesh trying to kill you. It's just the business.

The IAH base has experienced several negative developments that are causing a drawdown in the base.
Southwest aggressively moving into the city.
NASA drawdown.
Falling oil prices.

The beancounters, many of which are ex-Cons, have decided to reduce the size of IAH. They are doing that to make sure that we all get bigger profit sharing checks. You and anyone else in IAH who are suddenly crying over the injustice of the decisions made from on high, while being silent on the decisions that negatively impacted others, are going to find no support from those of us who have been through this in the past.

Kilder, bottom line, no one outside of IAH cares. And I doubt that many in IAH care much.

And that's the problem Andy...we have an Union that has responsibility to care and it's obvious that it doesn't

Also the past difficulties of many pilots were not caused at a time when there was major hiring, fuel was at an incredibly low price, no major war and no economic downturn....very different than what we are seeing today...

If we were experiencing the problems of the past I could agree with you..but that is not the case today in today's environment...
