Gonna have to start the ORD LAX commute for a few months (offline) and was curious if there is any experience/ideas out there to lessen the pain? Virgin America has a couple flights to augment AA/UA/SW.

I heard the Hacienda is under construction, any other commuter hotels that folks like. The inlaws live about an 1.5 hours away, but I am sure some days will spent closer to LAX
