As far as economic downturn, wake UP! The Houston area and all of Texas are in a recession. It's a regional economic downturn that's negatively impacting the profitability of the IAH hub. IAH will eventually grow again, but for now it needs to shrink. I get the feeling you don't understand basic economics very well.
As far as your attitude goes, if you're going to spend the next 30+ years of your life being miserable and blaming everything on LUAL, it would be wise for you to seek employment elsewhere. There's plenty of hiring going on and you'd have no problem getting on somewhere else. It would be worth it for your personal happiness.
