Bad flaps and John Carr, thanks for your support.
Ted74, if my post did come across as arrogant my apologies. Text communications leave out so many aspects of communications and very interpretive to tone at times.
I've come across many line pilots at DL while jumpseating and so many have their own perspectives of what one needs to get hired. Good example is one guy told me "a person isn't competitive unless they have 10,000 hrs.", but through research and attending conventions flight time is only a slice of the pie - we like talking about pies don't we

.
My .02 worth is just that. I've really been studying this stuff with delta for the last 7 years and very diligently for the past 2.5 years once I caught wind of the onset of hiring, but I have yet to get an invite. I know I'll get my shot one day. I just want to do it before a lot of seniority is lost, but that's the story for me and many many others.
When the day I get an invite occurs I will be ecstatic, because instead of wishing for it, I will have it. Then it's up to me to earn it. Right now I'm at the mercy of the ones doing the selection to find favor on my app while trying to make it look as good as I poss know how.
You are right about one thing. Humbleness is of essence in getting this job at any legacy. Once they are certain of your capabilities, they want to make sure you aren't arrogant or a jerk. We are all humans and put our clothes on essential the same way. Last thing any of us want is someone making a four day miserable.
