You guys are actually making my point. You're hearing me say things I'm not saying - or at least not what I'm intending to say. And if you were the interviewer, what you HEARD is what would have counted - not what I actually said, or what I was trying to say. I could choose to hear JC calling me a flaming bag o'douche in his post above, or hear that as him describing others as such - big difference, right? (I actually don't know).

Offering .02 isn't arrogant, nor did I say it was. Feel free to re-read my original post. The SECOND part of Lear's statement...his opinions about hiring being as good as anyone else's...could (IMAO) seem arrogant to someone on the inside who actually does know the secret sauce of the selection process. I also didn't intend to tell Lear to eat humble pie here on the thread...just that it's a great way to get in the zone on interview day. If all that is "harsh", the real world must seem pretty intolerable.

If you've done professional interview prep, you know it's not all back pats and congratulations about how qualified and deserving you are (at least that's not what I'd want). I was just trying to help out with something different, that worked for me. If my post(s) get(s) anyone butt hurt, they can scroll on by with the flick of a finger and rid themselves of my negativity.
