If you want a day off in the middle of a work block, get creative. Otherwise you must alter your normal bid. Bid trips that start late the day after or finish late the day before. Or just go platinum, that has the best success. Bid as normal then do what you gotta do.
You shouldn't have to get creative when you're only request is one specific day either way it didn't matter in the end.
