Good situation to be in, congratulations. I think one thing in the + for JB is that the sub-par health insurance won't be an issue for you (your wife's will be great). By the time you may need JB's I think the first contract will be well squared away.

A good friend on mine has been at SWA for a number of years. I think the honeymoon is over. He's happy to work there but not really thrilled going in anymore. (Seems normal). Just comparing schedules between the two companies it's apples and oranges. He does 4-5 legs and ends up in Amarillo, I do one leg to SFO. He does another 4-5 leg day, I do a red eye down to the Caribbean. Generally speaking he wishes he was doing different flying.

Another frustration seems to be the company's lack of change. Not just management, but the line pilot is very stuck in the "This is how we do it at SWA mentality." The culture is strong, which is good but again it can be frustrating.
