Sadly, my last exchange with "those above" fell on deaf ears. DAL creates metrics to measure and manage problems. Occasionally they manage the metric itself and make the problem worse. They need to change the metrics to fit reality. Stations should be graded on having the airplane ready as they can't control when ATC lets us push. Latency is nonsense. Turn the beacon on early, get the chocks out and the ground crew away from the jet and safe. Then push as soon as possible. Who cares when the light came on or when the brakes were released? The beacon is a safety issue. Record the freaking time off GPS movement. Pay us from door closing and use GPS movement for out time. JMO, OFG
