I'm sure the new guy is a great dude, but I can't help thinking that is somewhat of a gutsy move, especially as a newbie. I know of a few former pilot colleagues, who I was never particularly fond of, get hired on by Delta. I've really always thought going out of my way to blacklist anyone as kind of a jerk move. I'm not labeling anyone here, just saying this is a very small industry and I couldn't imagine going out of my way to burn someone like that unless I truly felt it would save lives one day.
What's that old saying again....what comes around, must come down.
I hear ya. No one likes a snitch, and usually for good reason. However the very few instances of people in the industry I've known to go out of their way to "fully inform" about particular people have been justified. I've never done it, and only would ever consider it for one or two people. One of which got on at another legacy anyway (that no one there can believe because they weren't aware

) and another who isn't likely to get the call here even if we're deep into tier 3. So I probably never will, which is fine by me.
I'm an easy A and will rec just about anyone (although to varying levels of effort and enthusiasm) even those I wasn't crazy about working with or had personality differences from. I firmly believe we have to help out eachother and you never know when you need to cross over any given bridge. But there are a very few out there I think we all know who would be lousy fits at best, and in some cases flat out scammers or even safety threats.
It would have to be bad for me not to rec someone though, and really really bad for me to even go through the trouble of making a call. I think most are the same way. But sometimes it may be necessary.
