Not to argue the merits of everything said, but a meteoric rise is a misnomer because a meteor is a short lived streak as it comes crashing down. A meteor is not the best metaphor for a triumphant and lasting ascendancy.
Truth be told that is in fact true, but you know these colloquialisms. So lets replace it with a more apt "Rise like a Phoenix!"
