When we were 'under age' we used to drive down to a packie in Salisbury to buy beer, (Naragansett or Fallstaff of course) where it was known he never checked ID's! I probably saw you in the parking lot there no doubt... in 1976.
I haven't been to Newburyport in 20 years. I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford to live there. When I grew up, there were poor kids...north end vs south end. However, there was also no shortage of rich kids too. Lots of parents that were software ipo-ers, one kids dad had the patent for the head tennis racquet, some old money, etc. I grew up across the street from the Dexter mansion. Skated on the mall with my ccm super tacks. Rode my bike wherever, got home after dark. My older brother went to governor dummer my younger went to Phillips Andover I was a public school product...
