That's not a CDO, it's a one leg trip worth 10:30 with 1:45 block time and a deadhead to base. The alternative is giving the crew legal rest after the flight and dead heading them home later in the day which is still worth 10:30. The crew has the option to do that anyway by deviating from deadhead.

I have a hard time seeing the issue with the rotation as it's described while trying to figure out how I'm going to get a little sleep before my 4:30 red eye.
