Just curious where you got this idea? Last I looked when reading the email, their focus areas were more than just "pay and investments". I agree that big gains should be made in some key areas (pay, retirement, etc.), I also agree that protracted negotiations aren't in our best interest and will only benefit the company. I'm interested to see what additional topics are surveyed in the near future.

Gypsy is exactly right. I've served on a negotiating committee at a previous carrier. Management can spend months delaying on minutiae when scheduling, hotels, etc is put on the table and still be considered to be negotiating in good faith by the NMB. If we want the pay we deserve anytime soon that must be the only item of focus. Does anyone really believe our management will give us one penny more before they are forced to?
