That's really why you want us to be union because then you could actually merge with us. I know you're going to spin it that managment makes you look unprofitable (of course that's what every manager ever wants *rolls eyes*) but your contract and operation are being subsidized by Skywest side, I think you should think about your ignorance.

That is a straw man argument. I've already pointed out that this is not about anything other than the corporate culture of Inc. I've known since our MEC rolled over on our scope that we would never see a merger of all operations and that that inevitably means the eventual end of xjt, as we knew it. Again, what I'm talking about here has nothing to do with that. I'm simply talking about the corporate culture that lead to this situation to begin with.

Also, this is a different conversation than the union topic. But just to clarify something, IF you were to go union, it does NOT mean there will be a merger. PSA, PDT, and Envoy are all union and separate as well as TSA, Gojet, and compass. So you are mistaken if you think going union means merger.

I'm not saying Skywest pilots will end up taking it hard and lower the bar but we are sustainable, there will be a company here for people to come to and get their time and the lifers to have a place to end their careers. Expressjet has failed to adapt to the items, should we all get paid more? Absolutely, but that can't be done the way the regional system is designed. Expressjet and Skywest can't fight all the other regionals, it would just delay the inevitable till both companies are gone. The only way compensation would increase is one list for all regionals with everyone in the same Union, and even then it won't make sense for mainline to outsource anymore and they will take back their flying and the regionals will cease to exist.

The Skywest Inc annual report admits that you get what others negotiate. So you may not be a bottom feeder but that's because you get the average of what others actually negotiate. In other words, instead of helping, you are a drag.

By the way, I would love for mainline pilots to take back their flying and temporarily put me out of a job!

The problem is way bigger than Skywest and ExpressJet.

The continental express operation was profitable until Skywest whipsawed us against their pilots. The union thing is so that you can join the table and start helping. Nothing more and nothing less.
