This may be a stupid question, but what does everyone do about their Facebook account during the application process? We all have those drunk pictures from college buried deep in our history or politically charged comments in regards to the "excellent" decision making ability of our current commander in chief, however, I wonder how deep large companies will look and what kind of access they have beyond what your privacy settings protect? You seem to see a lot of people changing their last name on Facebook these days in an apparent attempt to protect their privacy, but what are everyone's thoughts on here?
Worry less about social media and more about making your application perfect and getting the interview invite. We all made stupid mistakes when we were younger. I racked up a bunch of speeding tickets because I thought I was bulletproof and hadn't grown up yet. Luckily, most of us mature and Delta knows that. Own your mistakes from the past if asked about them, but worrying about FB posts from years ago is not using your time wisely IMO.
Now if you have recent posts or pics that you are concerned about, well, then you probably have bigger problems since that type of personality tends to leave data points (run ins with the law, long times completing education degrees, etc) that Delta will pick up on and likely ask about in the interview. Good luck and hope you get the invite soon.
