Do you actually commute on Horizon? I commute from RDM. The agents are fantastic in my experience. I have never been weight restricted on a Q400. A 200 yes. But Horizon only has the 400. I don't recall ever being bounced by a DHD Horizon Pilot, in fact I can only remember being bounced one time by a Horizon mechanic. (Over 10 years commuting).
The winter ice fog and snow can be a factor so it does require some planning, but the drive is only 3 hours to PDX if it all goes to hell.
The summer schedule is up to 5 a day to PDX and SEA.
