** I wouldn't say "well above" Sailing, but the statistics don't show us too far removed.
And how many nights do doctors and lawyers spend away from their homes and families, in the normal course of their work? Pilots should be paid A LOT more for that sacrifice alone, not just the 'pushing metal' part, IMMHO.
