I have read into past pages and have not found answers to a few questions I have about PSA. Your time in offering your knowledge and opinions to some of these questions is much appreciated.
1.- What is the likely base assigned out of training for a new hire? How long to hold CLT or TYS? How long could reserve be expected in these bases ?
2.- Why is TYS a base ? (Mx) ? I dont see many PSA flights out of there.
3.- Is the preferential interview with AA now considered a flow ? Why does the company state that an FO can interview with AA after 1 yr., yet I have read in previous comments that the flow for a new hire could take 9 years?
4.- Regarding Captain upgrade. Some carriers allow a mix of 121/135 time towards the 1000 total SIC req. to upgrade. Is there a specific reg. regarding this ? or is it a case by case basis at airline discretion ? would 135 PIC time in a passenger carrying turboprop (certified for more than 10 seats) count towards the 1000 hours ?
5.- Do you guys feel that a new hire would be better off at Mesa or PSA (careers wise) ?
6.- How much can an FO at PSA expect to make during the first year if they are able to pick up a reasonable amount of extra flying ?
7.- What does the interview process at PSA consist of ?
Cheers!
