Finally, we agree on something. It never should've happened, but it has happened over and over again. What you are suggesting is the Skywest pilots put themselves in that situation. Why? How does that help the industry? The union does not fit at the regional level.

Like I said, nothing stops a unionized pilot group from negotiating something that is fair and good for both the company and the pilots.

Retention bonus sounds like a paradox to me. If you want and vote for a retention bonus then it's apparent you want to stay here a long time. If that is the case, then why should the company reward you for something you were already going to do?
Also, the math equates to $70M annually if they actually went through with it. And, IMO, I don't see the company spending that kind of cash.
So you are saying that management is not being honest with the pilots? Are they just using unethical tactics in order to try to persuade the pilots to vote yes? Would they negotiate a pay raise and then park a fleet? Are they offering a profit sharing plan knowing there won't be any profits?
