I think the 45 days is unrealistic. When I challenged them on that, they said perhaps it would be more like 30. Either way, it's Montreal - bring lots of singles for the classy establishments on St. Catherine's. Trust me, no one wants the upgrade time to be quick as bad as I do, I am just very skeptical at this point. Probably just letting the rumor mill get to me. I was under the impression that the first 175 delivery was scheduled for this month... no sign of it yet.

On a side note: Let's say you're flying at Compass. NWA starts hiring off the street early next year. Will NWA even consider you if you apply? Or is there some 'secret' arrangement between the two that they will ignore all Compass pilots until their 30 months are up? Something to STRONGLY consider. (I haven't thought of a tactful way to ask a Compass management person this yet)
This is preciously what happened at Eagle and their flow-through. The Eagle signatories asked what would happen if AA started to hire before any AE pilots were eligible to to flow. AA said don't worry we won't start hiring for at least 24 months. AA started hiring as soon as the ink was dry and hired almost 2000 pilots before anyone at eagle had 18 moths as a jet CA. (the flow requirement) To add insult to injury after guys were eligible to flow AE/AA tried to hold them at eagle saying that it would cause to much detriment to AE's operation. In addition the flow-through stated that each new hire class at AA had to consist of at least 50% AE pilots. Never happened. By the way the AE flow ups received their AA seniority numbers when the took their initial check ride on the jet. So they were stuck, many still, at AE while new people off the street (junior to them) where flying at AA. It all looked great on paper but turned into a goat
****** in its implementation. I hope the NWA agreement works out much better for you.

PS

AMR has owned Eagle since 1984 (maybe 86'). So the AE flow up guys had been working for and contributing to AMR profits (ergo AA profit sharing checks) for over 16 years when this was going down.
