Got to the meeting 15-20 minutes late so I may have missed some early points ( plese fill in if I missed anything). Basically DW was highlighting some of the problems (language) if bidding china. He said no one on the MEC was happy with the financial side of the package ( and later said he believed that's why the SFS rep voted against it) but that they recommend voting for it because they don't know what the implications would be if we vote it down ( company opens under the present contract), the $$ is better than nothing, it's an incremental increase for starting our next contract negotiations. The $2700 rent vs $1300 ownership could not be explained except that the company believes (the union couldn't verify) the tax inplications to the company equalize these two amounts???? He admitted that if a pilot expects to enjoy the lifestyle he has in the US over there, it will not happen. No real news otherwise. Pilots at the meeting didn't seem too impressed with the LOA.
