AWAC doesn't pay per diem in training IIRC. They "base" you in ATW while in training. Not sure how they are handling the different sim bases now, maybe you'll get per diem then. I remember my after tax pay my first year was $630 every two weeks not including uniform deduction.

Which brings up a note - as a new hire you must purchase a uniform. KEEP THE RECEIPT and when the next year rolls around you get your uniform bank filled. You can then expense the initial new hire uniform out of that bank.

(This was a decade ago...but) I remember my first 15th pay check on second year pay. It was so much money (around $2,100 after tax) I called my wife and said "you'll never guess how much they paid me...$2000!". "Wow..." she says. Thought we had hit it big. Haha.
