If I had a nickel for every time Johnny G stopped crappy info from going into an official communication, I'd be rich. The same goes for every time he lobbied to get better info, clearer info, and just plain more comprehensive info into his comms.
If you think you can do better, my advice is to try. You'll be writing comms that have to satisfy every diverse opinion on the MEC, plus get the approval of ALPA legal (local and national), plus make sure the message is clear to the average line pilot (not too long, not too brief, but still interesting and engaging), plus make sure the comm fits within a larger strategy which, again, is vehemently disagreed upon by members of the MEC, plus make sure the torrential tide of constantly changing information is always accurately portrayed in what you write, plus make sure your emails are getting delivered to as many pilots as possible, plus make sure that...
...the list goes on and on. Lighten up. Johnny G was a good comm guy.
