This is about the only big issue that I an remember where I agree with them. But they are not fighting for us. They are fighting for their own survival and union dues.
I'm usually pretty skeptical of anyone who makes an argument for either side, but do you honestly believe ALPA "WANTED" 50 seaters to RJ's and/or age 65(soon to be 68) or did they merely fight as long as they could and when all the forces were against them, capitulated in the most reasonable manner possible.
Everyone talks about ALPA as if it is some group of people who aren't pilots from the companies they represent. Stuff happens and the union tried to deal with it as best it can. Just cause you and I don't like it doesn't mean that ALPA created it.
When the ME carriers come into the US and undermine every international route they can get their nose into, will you post that it was ALPA who let the ME carriers into the US market without any quid pro quo?
