The email address used is irrelevant. I believe that to be the truth, but now you're just heard it from a guy (maybe) who heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy.
If he can use a hotmail.com address or yahoo.com email address, he'll seem old...and therefore experienced...and therefore reliable and wise.
