Gonna play devils advocate here...So, we (RAH) need a new contract to attract new hires so we can staff our flying, right? Let's look at the timeline here.
2 weeks+ for finishing negotiations (haven't even touched the "big 3" articles yet)
2-3 weeks for a vote
1 month to attract/interview anyone who might take the bait
2-3 months to train, including IOE
You're looking at 4-5 months before we even get the bodies we need in the seats flying the airplanes. And that's just for current staffing. How about when our 9 new DL175s start showing up this Fall? Or our 75 UA175s?...Half my flights cancel 2-3 days before hand. What's the point in even holding a line...Everyone saying this place is headed for an iceberg? It already hit it. It's a sinking ship. Jump on a lifeboat while you still can people. Mine's leaving next week.
