My prediction is within the next year or two you will see a major softening of the 1500hr rule. You'll see it knocked down to something like 500 hours in leiu of 16 Sim sessions and minimum 100% hours of ioe. That "rule" is as a result of legislation requiring it, change will be impossible without legislation to change it, good luck finding a politician who will fall on that sword. Decreasing safety to allow airlines more profits by hiring underqualified candidates.
