The 3407 pilots met the current hourly requirements when they were hired with the exception maybe of the ATP certificate for the FO. Even still, all airline pilots are/were trained to ATP standards whether captain or FO, at least at our company.
Did they have a multi-engine ATP when hired at their first 121 job? Honest question. I don't know but that's what the rule does today. So that's the relevant question. Anyway, if hours don't matter, why are there hour requirements for different certificates, ratings, sim training, IOE, etc?
