IIRC, when UAL inherited some 747 classics/"rope starts" from ANOTHER U.S. Airline, there was a similar issue. It's simply a matter of how the customer ordered the airplane.
And AGAIN, IIRC, these 747s were nicknamed "the lemon sisters".
But that was a long time ago, and I might confusing them with ANOTHER set of inherited airplanes.
