I only meant the NYC domicile. A nice suburban place on Long Island might work out. I actually found a few nice homes that seem to meet my criteria fairly far east on LI but not sure if I really want to live there. Don't get me wrong, Manhattan would be pretty cool but I know I won't make enough money to live there for a LONG time and I've been a suburb monkey for 44 years, I'm probably not going to change now. I swear everybody in KG thinks the sidewalk makes an acceptable trash receptacle. You'd think you were in the 3rd world with all the trash in the streets and sidewalks.
Long Island taxes will KILL you. There are beautiful areas of Queens where taxes are much more reasonable. Whitestone and Howard Beach come to mind. I live in another borough, so I'm not sure of house prices and what you get for that money, but very nice areas for raising a family.
