Kalyx,
Maybe I didn't read your posting right...are you a trainee also ?? Or, were you on a trip as a crewmember.
In any event, the company has an obligation to give you rest facilities that are conducive to rest. Your union and the rank and file, are the check and balance for this. Not to get too far off the track, but most hotel pools close at 10-11pm for the very reason of providing adequate rest for their patrons. So now you have a handful-of-options. 1. Call the front desk, they are being paid to keep the hotel quiet after hours. 2. Send in a debrief to your professional standards/hotel committee stating the pool is left open past 2am. #3. (Least recommended) Contact the company with the details. -OR-, you can kinda take my approach....
My sleep is kinda important, so if someone wakes me up, I usually get up, open the window and politely yell, "Knock it off you @#$#@ #@@#$#@, $%$#.
If that doesn't work, call building maintenance and get a 50 foot extentsion cord. Hook up the old clock radio and pitch it in the pool with your offending crew members. After a loud zapping sound, all the laughing and carrying on will come to a quick close and you might move up three seniority numbers.
Just a thought, hope a pair of earplugs works better.
