It looks likes he company expects us to extend as long as necessary, up to the max. Electing not to extend appears to be subjected to the same harassment as calling in "fatigued." Can anyone confirm this?

I asked my rep about this same thing not to long ago and he pointed me to an interpretation from 2014 that clarifies this (Anderson interpretation). I didn't ask for permission to quote the conversation, so I won't repost it, but here's a link to the interpretation:

Long story short, the way I read it is that, unless we specifically negotiate provisions regarding extensions, then the company is free to do what they are doing. Sucks, but it's not ALPA's fault.
