I disagree. I WISH we were just a line on a spreadsheet. We are not. They consider us an adversary to be vanquished, and most of us view UAL the same way.
Hence our long term "home" at the bottom of every airline quality ranking and operational metric.
When you negotiate a deal on a car, do you pressure the salesperson? This is absolutely adversarial. It's always been that way. Sometimes it seems like it isn't, but it always is.
